Bonfire night 5th November 2018
This time of year we see an increasing number of patients complaining of neck pain. Here are our top 3 tips:
1) Wrap up nice and warm. If if you get cold, your shoulders tighten and lift up into the shrug position. So keep them warm by rolling your shoulders backwards 5 times.
2) Avoid carrying a child on your shoulders! If avoidance isn’t an option, only carry them on your shoulders for a short time and brace your core muscles when lifting them up.
3) Take regular breaks when looking up at the sky. A good display will fill the whole sky so take it all in by moving your neck not just your eyes. Holding your neck still in extension for long periods can quickly stiffen your neck joints.
Lastly, if you do find you feel stiff and sore after watching a display, it could be that you have an underlying joint problem. Our team of friendly Chiropractors are here to help you make a swift recovery.
