Chiropractic Awareness Week 8th April 2019
This Chiropractic Awareness Week the British Chiropractic Association is encouraging people to keep moving, after finding that over half of people don’t take any steps to look after their spinal health.
Chiropractic Awareness Week aims to educate people about the easy ways they can avoid or alleviate pain, which on average 80% of the nation has experienced. Regularly changing posture and remaining seated for no longer than 30 minutes at a time are just a couple of ways to prevent or reduce pressure on the back and neck.
Top tips to keep you functioning :
- Keep moving, keep active!
- Take a break every 30 minutes. Get up and move around.
- Lifting and carrying: remember to bend from the knees and not from the waist! Hold close to your body and ask for help with heavy objects.
- Sleep comfortably. Make sure you have the right mattress for you. Everyone is different, seek advice if you are unsure what you need.
- Straighten up! The British Chiropractic Association has created a programme of three minute exercises which can be slotted into your daily routine. Visit: Straighten Up UK.
