Heavy Is The Head That Wears The Crown
"Did you know the human head can weigh up to 11 pounds - almost 5kg?! (Except my Great Uncle Bernard, I'm pretty sure his weighed double that). Which is fascinating when you think about it. Imagine your poor neck having to carry round a bowling ball - or your average sized pumpkin - all day long!

Originally introduced in France in 1792, this historic symbol of the French Revolution would decapitate its victims in miliseconds, sending a spray of blood from the carotid artery into the cheering crowds. This is of course, unless the oblique blade was blunt, resulting in multiple attempts to severe the head into the basket below. Not a pleasant way to go by any stretch of the imagination!"
