Pilates is a fantastic form of exercise for everyone! It is a gentle, low-impact conditioning programme that is suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Pilates exercises are simple but effective. A combination of mat work, posture awareness and resistance techniques are taught to switch on the muscles which support your spine. Performing these exercises takes concentration and focus. Pilates is particularly effective for people suffering from recurrent back or joint pain, pelvic floor problems, stress and many other medical conditions. It is also an excellent form of exercise for pregnant and post-natal women.
Yoga is an excellent form of exercise that focuses on posture, strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. Yoga is a safe and effective way to increase physical activity that combines stretching exercises, controlled breathing and relaxation. Yoga can help relieve aches and pains, reduce stress, lower blood pressure and improve heart function.
Each week we run a number of yoga and pilates classes here at the centre. These take place in our wellness studio. There will never be more than 10 participants in each of our classes, so our instructors have the time to ensure everyone gets the attention they need to perform the exercises correctly. Our instructors are experienced and attentive to ensure that Yoga and Pilates are both safe and effective for you. All equipment is provided.
